Lasdon’s horticulturist will explain the importance of a soil’s pH level and how it affects plant health. Learn how to do a soil test using your own soil. Participants should take a sample of their soil at about a 6″ depth. Just a cup of soil is needed. Place the sample in a small plastic container or small plastic bag.
The soil sample should not be too wet as that interferes with the pH reading. If your soil sample is wet, spread the soil out in a thin layer on a paper towel until it is just slightly damp. Soil samples will be available to practice on if you cannot bring your own sample.
