This tour will focus on the history and highlights of the Lasdon Arboretum. We will walk and examine the William and Mildred Memorial Garden, magnolia trees, lilacs, conifers, and azalea garden in addition to information about the Lasdon house and it’s history.
Your guide, Mr. Bruce Rosenberg has been a tour guide at the New York Botanical Garden for the last eight years. His tours have included Ethnobotany in the Enid Haupt Conservatory, History and Ecology of the Bronx River, Ecotherapy the benefits of Nature and the Mitsubishi Wetland. He graduated with a Urban Naturalist certificate from the Garden and prior to his tour guide duty was a Federal tour guide at the Arthur Marshal Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge for 10 years. In addition, he was a tour guide at the Palm Beach County Green Cay Nature Wetlands in Boynton Beach FL receiving a BA from Hofstra University and an MA from NYU. While in Florida I received a degree from the University of Florida certifying me as a Florida Master Naturalist and Land Steward.
