The Trail of Honor is a tranquil, 1/3 of a mile wooded walk that contains a series of statues and sculptures that represent every major American military conflict dating from the American Revolution to present day. The Trail of Honor first began with the dedication of the Vietnam Memorial in 1987 and continues to grow to this day. Honoring all veterans of Westchester County is part of the mission of Lasdon Park.

Wander through our enchanting Fairy Trail, where charming fairy houses are hidden among the trees, waiting to be discovered! Along the path, interactive and educational signage reveals the magic of the forest, teaching visitors about the importance of different plants, animals, and ecosystems that keep this woodland thriving. Perfect for families, nature lovers, and dreamers alike!

Located within the Arboretum near the main house. 

Originally converted in 1999 this caretaker's cottage was to become the official site of The Westchester County Veterans Museum. The museum was renovated in 2013, and has offered rotating exhibits that contain many artifacts, displays, and historical information from various conflicts for public viewing.

Admission is free to the general public.

Once the Lasdon family's pool house, the Welcome Center stands on one end of the Conservatory Plaza. Visit here to use the restroom or find out more information about the park.

The Lasdon Estate, originally known as Cobbling Rock Farm, was purchased by William and Mildred Lasdon in 1939. In 1933, the main house of the estate was constructed by Dr. Voislawsky after the original house was destroyed in a fire. The design of the house was inspired by George Washington's home in Virginia.

Today, the house is used as a center for the park's staff, a place for the park's programs, and for event venues. It is closed to the general public.

This beautiful garden features native plants accented by the graceful statues of the “Four Seasons,” representing the Greek goddesses; Eiar, Theros, Phthinoporon, and Kheimon (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, respectively). The stone moon gate is considered a source of good luck or good fortune for those who step through them!

The garden is dedicated to the late philanthropist Nanette Laitman, daughter of pharmaceutical executive William S. Lasdon and Mildred D. Lasdon.

The glass-and-steel structure spans across 2,500 sq ft and was designed by the renowned Rough Brothers, Inc. - the same construction firm that worked on projects such as the New York Botanical Gardens, the US Arboretum, and London's Royal Botanical Gardens.

This building is home to the annual Holidays on the Hill Train Show, which showcases trains, enchanting holiday scenes, colorful seasonal plants, and more. Every spring, the exhibit is updated with new features that aim to educate and entertain visitors.

Step into the past and explore our park's exciting dinosaur trail, where realistic dinosaur statues bring the Jurassic period to life! Each dinosaur is accompanied by educational signage, providing fascinating facts about their unique traits, habitats, and behaviors, making this a fun and informative adventure for dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages.

Overlooking the fruit tree field, there are a number of picnic tables for public use. Please ensure that you take all trash with you upon departure.

Usually planted with grasses and flowering perennials, rain gardens can be a cost effective and beautiful way to reduce runoff from your property. Rain gardens can also help filter out pollutants in runoff and provide food and shelter for butterflies, songbirds and other wildlife.

Explore the beauty of our Lilac Path, a scenic journey through fragrant lilac shrubs that lead to the Pine Collection. Known as the "Queen of Shrubs," lilacs are celebrated for their resilience and enchanting fragrance, filling the air with a sweet, unmistakable scent each spring. As you walk along the path, you’ll find signage with information about the history, symbolism, and unique qualities of lilacs, along with tips on sustainable landscaping.

Discover the serenity of our Pine Collection, a peaceful part of the trail where towering pine trees create a lush canopy overhead. Pines are not only beautiful but also essential to the ecosystem, providing habitat for wildlife, stabilizing soil, and purifying the air.  This tranquil space invites visitors to connect with nature and appreciate the timeless beauty and ecological value of these remarkable trees.

Wander through our impressive Conifer Collection up the hill behind the Conservatory, where towering pines, firs, and spruces create a serene, evergreen sanctuary in every season. These majestic trees are vital to the ecosystem, providing shelter for wildlife, purifying the air, and stabilizing the soil.  Perfect for tree enthusiasts and nature lovers, this collection offers a peaceful escape and a chance to connect with some of the forest’s most enduring and resilient trees.

Along the main driveway at the top of the trail to the lower parking lot stands the Flowering Tree Grove. Throughout spring and summer these trees bloom and become a magnificent sight for visitors.

Stroll through our breathtaking Magnolia Collection, where the rich colors and elegant blooms of these grand trees create a truly awe-inspiring display. Known for their lush, fragrant flowers and graceful branches, magnolias offer visitors a peaceful and enchanting experience. Informational signs along the path share insights into the many varieties of magnolias, their cultural significance, and their role in supporting local pollinators, making this a perfect spot for nature lovers and garden enthusiasts alike.

Alongside the footpath loop leading from the Memorial Garden towards the Conservatory Plaza lies the Heather Collection. This garden features a soothing lily pond surrounded by heather plants that have been carefully curated and cared for by our skilled gardeners.

Next to Nan's Garden, at the top of the hill bordering the side of the Conservatory Plaza lies the Azalea Garden. In the summer this garden becomes a parade of brightly colored shrubs.

Explore the unique charm of our Dwarf Conifer Collection, where compact, beautifully shaped evergreens create a landscape of texture and color year-round. These small but mighty trees are perfect examples of how nature adapts, showcasing varieties that thrive in limited spaces with unique growth patterns, colors, and forms. Informational signs throughout the collection highlight the fascinating characteristics of each species, from their slow growth and resilience to their vital roles in supporting biodiversity.

Follow the Flowering Tree Trail down to the lower parking lot to find the path to the Chinese Friendship Garden. Overlooking a tranquil pond and surrounded by bamboo sits a beautiful and richly painted Chinese pavilion. This lovely space is a favorite for visitors to enjoy the beauty of nature.
