Photography Permit Fee

$125 – FORMAL POSED PHOTOGRAPHY
for a 2 hour photo shoot

Available during normal park hours Lasdon (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

$300 – WEDDING/EVENT/QUINCEANERA
for a 2 hour photo shoot

Available during normal park hours Lasdon (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

PHOTOGRAPHY SCHEDULED AFTER PARK HOURS will incur an additional fee of $50 per hour  and must be approved in advance by the park manager.

•All payment must be in advance and checks made payable to: Westchester County (no credit cards). You must obtain your permit two days prior to your desired visit, permits are issued via e-mail.

•All payments are non-refundable, an alternate date may be arranged due to weather or other reasonable circumstance ONLY if you contact us before 4 p.m. on the date of your permit

Photography Policy

Visitors With Cameras

Lasdon Park and Arboretum is a popular, backdrop for many photographers. Casual “in-the-moment” photography of your visit for personal use is welcome. However, if you are coming to the Arboretum for the primary purpose of taking posed photographs, a permit is required.

PHOTOGRAPHY PERMIT FEES apply to all posed or staged photo sessions regardless of the relationship or arrangements between the photographer and the person(s) they are photographing. It is not relevant whether the photographer is a professional or not.

Please note that dates for all photography sessions must be approved through the Lasdon Park office. Complete the application below to apply for a photo permit.

Casual Personal Photography

Casual personal photography which does not require a permit includes the use of point and shoot, small pocket cameras or camera phones to take snapshots. No photography equipment may be used. No tripods, mono-pods, reflectors, props, scrims or additional lighting are allowed without a photo permit. A built-in camera flash is not considered additional lighting. Photography by hobbyists for personal photographs of nature or plant life would not require a permit.

Photography guidelines apply at all times regardless if a permit is required.

Any Posed Photography – Permit Required

Reservations and a permit are required for any staged/group photography. This includes individual and family, engagement, prom, holiday card, graduation, senior photos and the like. The photographer need not be a professional.  Maximum of 20 people per session.* Groups larger than 20 may incur additional fees.

Guests should come dressed and prepared for their photo session. There are no changing areas available. Photography is not allowed in any building or the Lasdon Conservatory.

Wedding/Event/Quinceanera Photography – Permit Required

Wedding/Special Event/Quinceanera photography, regardless of the size of the party or the equipment used requires a Wedding Photography permit.  Maximum of 25 people per session.* Groups larger than 25 may incur additional fees.

Photography sessions will be scheduled around in-house events and those who have rented the Arboretum as the venue for their wedding or other special event. Please be sure to indicate your intention to include a photo shoot during your event.
