Pollinators and Plant Communities
Pollinators hold a dynamic role in the health of our ecosystems through their relationships with native plants. Participants venture into the gardens to observe the interactions between plants and pollinators while learning about their importance. This program will foster deep connections with sustainability focusing on the principals of stewardship and our impact on the ecosystem. Suitable for all ages.
WHAT WE COVER:
Grades K – 4
• How native plants provide wildlife habitat?
• Why flowers attract pollinators?
• What happens when native plans or pollinators aren’t present in the ecosystem?
Grades 5 – 7
• What is the relationship between native plants and pollinators?
• Why do we need native plants for food production?
• How can we support pollinators?
Grades 8 – 12
• What is biodiversity?
• Why is biodiversity important in the ecosystem?
• How can we impact the ecosystem?
